After hearing nothing but good things about The Book Club in Shoreditch, some friends and I decided to give it a visit. The venue itself is a beautifully decorated bar, with a club room downstairs as well as room that you can book for private parties.
The four of us turned up at 7:30 without a reservation (whoops!) but managed to swoop in on a table within 5 minutes of getting there. We had two platters, the Veggie one and A Fajita platter; both were yummy and had a great mix of food. At £10 a platter, we got ourselves a bargain! The drinks were very reasonably priced, a G&T was £4.10 and wine was £15 a bottle, so we were very pleased with the how cheap the night was going.
We heading down to the club (entry is normally £5 but as we had eaten there we didn't have to pay) and DJ Derek was just starting! What a surprise to see someone so old on the decks but he was brilliant, the music was perfect for a cheeky dance!
I definitely recommend the venue and will be heading back again soon! My friend and I are planning to go for brunch one day; it is the perfect place to relax with a good book and the Sunday papers.
